Frequently asked questions

Answers to what families in the Twin Cities ask us most, before and after they call. If your question isn't here, call us, we'd rather talk it through than have you guess.

Getting started

Before you call

What is in-home care, and how is it different from a nursing home or assisted living?

In-home care means support comes to your loved one, in their own home, instead of them moving somewhere new. A caregiver helps with the everyday things, personal care, meals, housekeeping, getting around, so your loved one can stay independent and comfortable where they already live.

What areas do you serve?

We serve families across the Twin Cities metro, including Hennepin, Ramsey, Dakota, Scott, Washington, Carver, and Anoka counties.

How do I get started?

Call us for a free, no pressure consultation. We'll talk through your loved one's needs, answer your questions, and build a care plan around what actually helps your family.

How soon can care begin?

It depends on your situation, but we move quickly once a plan is in place. Call us and we'll give you a realistic timeline for your family.

Can I meet the caregiver before care starts?

We want you and your loved one to feel comfortable with who's coming into the home. Ask us about this when we talk.

Can the care schedule change later?

Yes, care plans aren't locked in. As your loved one's needs change, we adjust the schedule with you. Call us to talk through how much notice works best.

Services

What we help with

What services does MTT Fields Care provide?

Personal care, household help and transportation, companionship, meal preparation, and daily living support. Every plan is built around what your family actually needs, not a one size fits all package. See our full services page for details.

Is this medical care?

No. Our caregivers provide non medical support, help with daily routines, personal care, and getting around, rather than nursing or clinical treatment.

Do you help with medications?

Our caregivers can provide medication reminders as part of daily living support. Anything beyond reminders is a different level of service, call us and we'll tell you honestly what applies to your situation.

Do you provide transportation to appointments?

Yes, rides to medical appointments, errands, and outings are part of our household help and transportation service.

Can care be just a few hours a week, or up to full time?

Both. Some families need a few hours of help a week, others need daily or extended support. We build the schedule around you.

Do you provide care in assisted living, or only in a private home?

Call us to talk through your situation and we'll let you know what we can do.

Caregivers

Who's coming into the home

How are caregivers screened and trained?

Every MTT caregiver completes Minnesota's required background study before working with clients. Ask us for more detail about training and screening when we talk.

Will we have the same caregiver every visit?

We aim for consistency, so your loved one builds a relationship with a familiar face rather than a rotating cast of strangers.

What happens if our regular caregiver is sick or on vacation?

We arrange coverage so care continues without interruption. Ask us about our backup process when we talk.

Trust & credentials

Licensed, insured, accountable

Is MTT Fields Care licensed and insured?

Yes. MTT Fields Care is a Minnesota licensed home care provider (license #425829).

Changing needs

As things change

What if my loved one's needs change over time?

We check in regularly and adjust the care plan as things change, so your loved one always has the right level of support.

Still have questions?

This page doesn't cover everything, and it shouldn't try to. Call us and we'll give you a straight answer, including if that answer is "let us find out and call you back."
